Refurbishment

We have many calls from our customers with enquiries to quote for new sewage systems with a supply and install normally after receiving a large quote from a competitor. We can also quote at a competitive price but in many cases just a simple free site visit to look and see . A lot of the older sewage system just become tired and expensive to run not always the end.

As you can see from above the treatment plant on the left is an old clearwater AC4 which is a aerated treatment plant but relies on a 240v submersible pump forcing water down into a plastic media for treatment this 240v pump was running 24hrs a day and in 20 years 17 new pumps had been replaced. Instead of a new treatment we totally refurbished this treatment plant removing the old 240v pump and removing all the media and cleaning the years of built up sludge that nobody could get to with a new de 'sludge tube for ease of emptying we then installed a diffuser and associated pipe back to ground level with control taps for adjustment  also installing a linear blower for operation giving not only a good clean discharge sample but cutting the electric cost by nearly three quarters of what the treatment plant would have used with a further long life and a long term solution with warranty saving our customer 12,500 in the process. 

The picture above is an old cesspit and a above ground filter bed that was all fallen in and not working the cost of a new replacement being around the 45 thousand mark for the properties it was serving we did also quote for a new replacement but also gave the option of a refurbishment and gaining the order to refurbish the system we started with a good empty and wash down clean with also removing the old clinker within the filter bed along with the corroded spreader trays. The blast furnace clinker was of good size but just blinded with years of use so this was cleaned with new air pipes at the bottom of the bed the clinker was replaced and a set of new spreader trays being installed. We then added one of our Viper conversion units inside the old cesspit for treatment and also installing a new 240v submersible pump to lift the clean water up and over the clinker via the new spreader trays polishing the final sample before discharge. We also replaced the old concrete covers that were broken with sleepers on the main tank and filter bed finishing off with repairing the old electric cupboard door and a new cover of paint.

Another refurbishment going on to give a further longer life and another huge saving for our customer. When looking at these old systems it gives a great achievement knowing we have done the right thing in giving our customers many options and savings.
